Jamestown Restaurant Owner Guilty of Mortgage Fraud

Steven Carlson, 52, of Jamestown pleads guilty to tax evasion and mortgage fraud charges

He admitted evading federal taxes from 2001 until 2008 by illegally putting businesses and properties in names of other people to obtain property mortgages

In the one transaction he secured a loan of more than $2 Million US Dollars from a Florida bank then defaulted on the repayments, he got the loan approved from the bank when he submitted falsified tax returns

Steven Carlson will be sentenced by the courts in due course
